Lachlan has extensive experience in workers compensation, common law claims, statutory benefits, public liability and self-insurance. He acts on behalf of the WorkCover Victoria, its authorised insurers and employers in a range of matters including serious injury applications, common law claims, damages proceedings and statutory benefits claims.
Lachlan also has a broad range of experience in dealing with different types of claims ranging from physical injuries, psychiatric conditions, and diseases. His experience covers a range of different industries including transport, retail, construction, banking and hospitality, and provides specialised advice to employers in relation to WorkCover Premiums and Penalties.
Lachlan also acts on behalf of the Transport Accident Commission in respect of a range of disputes and litigated matters, concerning loss of earning benefits, medical treatment, and impairment disputes.
Lachlan has extensive Court experience at all levels, from VCAT to the Court of Appeal, and has successfully managed a range of complex proceedings, including multi-party matters and proceedings under Part III of the Wrongs Act. Lachlan is a skilled negotiator and is able to achieve early resolutions on the best possible terms for his clients.
Lachlan also works for a range of self-insurers specialising in providing strategic advice and comprehensive settlement solutions to finalise ongoing statutory liability of self-insured clients.
Lachlan specialises in dependency claims, dealing with complex claims in a sensitive and pragmatic way. Lachlan also has extensive experience conducting judicial review matters in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
